Here are a list of the top 5 motorcycle stops we recommend checking out while on your trip to Whistler.

Take a Detour
10 km’s outside of Function Function is the Callaghan Valley where the 2010 Winter Olympic Ski jumping events were held among many others. They built a beautiful 2 lane road that takes you strait up the valley floor up into the mountains. This road is usually quite quiet which makes it ideal for riding. On either side of the road are high banks with lots of foliage that attract black bears and other wildlife. You can usually pull over and grab a quick photo of the animals when safe to do so. At the top of the road is Alexander Falls, this waterfall is absolutely stunning and is a perfect place for a pit stop or photo opportunity. This detour is a perfect way to break up a long highway ride.

Take a swim
Rainbow park is located just off of Alta Lake Road and this is something most people passing through might not find. This park hosts volleyball tournaments, food trucks, paddle boarding, swimming and even has a designated dog beach where you furry friend can run free and enjoy their day off-leash. Rainbow Park is situated on the backside of Alta Lake and is located only a few km’s from Whistler Village. There are bicycle trails that connect Whistler Village to the north and south side of the lake encase you are feeling adventurous and want to rent a bicycle. This is a great way to spend a few hours and take a break from your motorcycle adventure.

Have a bite to eat
Located just a few km’s north of Whistler Village is the Alpine Cafe, take the Alpine Meadows turn off on route 99 and on your right will be a nice little cafe with fantastic coffee and sandwiches. Their staff are very friendly, their coffee is upscale and their food fresh and the best part about it is, you can park your motorcycle right next to where you are sitting. Alpine meadows is one of Whistlers larger communities where a lot of local residents reside so you can guess you will get a very local experience here.

Have a drink
At Moto Experience we appreciate a good beer and you will find Whistler’s best beer at The Coast Mountain Brewery which is located in Function Junction 10 mins outside of Whistler Village. The Coast Mountain Brewery is a boutique brewery that opened it’s doors in 2016, it is operated by a local gentleman who has a strong passion for community, his town and his beer. The tasting room hours can be found here
Take a break
On the right side of highway 99 while heading North you will pass Emerald Lake, this stunning glacial lake paired with the mountainous backdrop makes this a perfect place to capture the beauty of your 2 wheeled machine, the snow capped mountains and glacial lake backdrop make this a photo worthy of your Instagram of Facebook feed. The kind of picture that will make your friends at home jealous they did not join you on your adventure. Emerald Lake is one of the more beautiful lakes that can be found along the valley floor.
