This 500 km ride is aimed at riders who are comfortable riding most terrain. This tour does have some technical off-road sections including some semi off camber roads, rocky downhill parts, tight corners ect. so we do recommend some off road experience.
Our day will start after bike orientation and dirt skills test is complete. Like many of our tours we’ll get to warm up riding the Duffey Lake road with 300 + paved turns before reach the dusty landscape in Lillooet. Cache creek is just a short drive past Lillooet which is a historic transportation junction and home to tonnes of riding in the surrounding area’s.
The next section has endless dirt roads coupled with hill climbs, rocky descents, lakes, wildlife, occasionally there are water crossings depending on the time of year, and tonnes of scenery. This road spits us out close to Marble Canyon that has a beautiful lake, and a limestone formation at the south end
After Marble Canyon we’ll head into another beautiful section of loamy fun dirt roads. We’ve seen Eagles soaring, cows and horses following us, and a bear bathing are all things we’ve seen along the way in this area. We’ll stop for lunch with a few various options, Historic Hat Creek being one of our favourites and a memorable place to stop.
We’ll take the opposite way back and follow the Duffey Lake road back to Pemberton in the early evening after an adventurous day exploring.
