Riding with Moto Experience – You’ve got the skills, you can get yourself on a bike, and you can buy a map. Why should you ride in British Columbia, or join a tour with Moto Experience?
Riding in the pacific Northwest of Canada
It’s a common question we ask ourselves to make sure we’re covering all bases to share the fun with our avid adventure motorcycle enthusiasts. If we can’t answer that question for ourselves, what’s going to make you want to share our adventure? There’s so many aspects to guiding tours and we love every part of it.
The Pacific Northwest of Canada is an adventure bike playground. There is no better feeling than twisting through a paved winding dream, only to find a forest service road that travels way up into the mountains, and linking up with your desired destination… and British Columbia is full of them. These roads access some of the more remote areas of the rocky terrain. The FSR’s, ATV and hunting trails often lead to the most beautiful glacial lakes, remote cabins, fishing destinations and wildlife you can find.
Adventure bikes… Are not dirt bikes
Regardless of the look of the bike, and all of those photos and videos of the seamless single track being ridden on a 1000+ cc adventure bike we’ve been watching, the reality is that these are completely different machines and majority of riders won’t be tackling tight single track on these large heavy machines. British Columbia is surrounded by the perfect terrain for all skill levels of adventure riding, and the single track is there if you really want to get put through your paces.
We’ve found some of the most interesting double track ranging from graded forest service roads, to shaley rock climbs, rutted farm lands and everything in between. Riding with a guide not only means you’ll be taken places within your skill level, you’ll have someone to help you through trickier sections and mean you can push your skills a little extra. Some of the most amazing scenery you’ll ever see are on these adv trails.
Its not what, but who
The saying ‘it’s who you know, not what you know’ goes a long way in our corner of the world.
Every adventure you can think of can be accessed at some point throughout the year, and if it can’t, we can usually find someone to help us plan/create it. Local knowledge comes in many shape, not only to do with the riding area’s but all aspects of hospitality and tourism. If you want to spend the day riding bikes in rocky glades, take a helicopter to the top of a mountain to hit (eco-friendly) golf balls, go jet boating, fishing and drink some beer… We can make it happen. BC is home to so many outdoor summer adventures, including tonnes of fishing (including the prehistoric sturgeon), hunting, climbing, hiking, golf courses galore and more.
The people you ride with influence the entire adventure
A good support network refers to the people in your life that help you achieve your goals. Now we might not be making history here, but your dream adventure isn’t something to shake a stick at. Who you choose to spend your adventure with can shape the entire journey for better or for worse. Enough support to get you through the difficult sections, that’ll also stand back and let you conquer it yourself. Riding is fun, even though it can be extremely tough at times. We try to never forget that. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, but that’s half the fun. We keep it light, have a laugh, shake it off and go again. Bikes are your best friends, until they aren’t… You can’t always tell what they’re thinking, sometimes they do exactly what you want, and sometimes they want to bite. All within a few seconds. When machines don’t work, it’s great to have a team around to help get that bike back up and running.
You can be as involved as you want. Your adventure of a lifetime is exactly that. We have an agenda for our pre planned trips so there are places we need to be by certain times, however, prior to departure we can make adjustments and our custom-built trips are built completely with you. We’ll do the grunt work and make sure the bikes are prepped and ready, we can have bbq dinners and beers by the hot tub with everyone getting involved. We can sleep in, eat at fancy restaurants and indulge in wine into the evening. We can be up early to hit the road, throw in some sky diving, and dive in a glacial lake before the days out. Its literally what you can dream.
